The AGM NVG40 is a high-end night vision binocular in White Phosphor, equipped with two 27mm tubes and a wide 40 degrees angle FOV. It has two Gen 2+ IIT (image intensifier tubes) that provide an alternative coloring closer to black and white images. This color change improves object recognition and at the same time gives a higher contrast sensitivity compared to traditional night vision green images. The AGM NVG40 is compact and lightweight and has a lifetime of up to 20 hours.
Quality of the IIT tube
The device is equipped with two PHOTONIS Gen 2+ IITs with a cosmetic 'level 1'. This means that there are no 'spots' in the image, so you have a razor sharp, whiteblue-ish image. Because a night vision binocular captures twice as much light as a monocular, this results in much more light transmission and therefore an even better quality reproduction.
The advantage of a binocular
You use the night vision viewer with two eyes, which means you can observe comfortably for a long time, because you don't have to close one eye all the time. Additionally, you can estimate depth with two eyes better than with one. You can tune the viewer to your eye distance (56 to 72mm). The optical magnification is 1x, but optical 3x or 5x zoom lenses are optionally available.
IR and accessories
The NVG40 is equipped with a built-in infrared illuminator to be able to see even when no light is present. You can set the power in two levels or turn it off completely. If you want to further increase the viewing distance or brightness you can use an extra IR illuminator (see optional accessories). On both sides of the body there is a mini-rail type mounting rail, to which you can attach the various accessories. At the top is an NVG interface, which allows you to connect the unit to a helmet or goggle kit for hands-free use. These accessories and mounts can be found with the optional accessories (available soon).
Application AGM NVG40 Gen 2+ White Phosphor
The NVMG40 of the American AGM Global Vision is a top-of-the-range night vision binocular with MIL-spec specifications. This makes it suitable for many professionaltactical applications, but also for hunting, security or for the demanding private user. The AGM NVG40 was formerly known in the market as the Armasight BNVD-40.
Because this viewer is equipped with a residual light-amplifying tube, you cannot use the device during the day. The device will automatically switch off when there is too much light present.
