FLIR Scion PTM166 Thermal Monocular

FLIR takes thermal observations to new heights with the new Scion PTM series! The FLIR Scion PTM166 thermal imaging camera is designed specifically for the professional user and is mainly suitable for security and law enforcement. The PTM (Professional Thermal Monocular) features unique high-tech options, such as the 12µm BOSON detector, FLIR TruWITNESS integration, three viewing modes and endless photo and video recordings. The thermal camera is suitable for long-range observations in complete darkness, bad weather conditions and the most challenging landscapes. Whether it's people camouflaging or hiding in the woods, people walking in complete darkness over forbidden terrain or a car that has been driven away and needs to be traced: with the Scion PTM166 everything and everyone is immediately visible. The BOSON detector allows you to detect people from a distance of more than 700 meters. The integrated image upscaling chip ensures that pixels of multiple images are attached to each other in real time (60hz). This ensures a superior viewing experience. The standard optical zoom of 0.7x can be enlarged 2x, 4x and 8x using a digital zoom. Viewing modes The PTM-series has three observation modes. You can use the standard Scouting Mode to observe the way you are used to. A new feature is the Lock-Span Mode. It filters out unwanted temperatures that you don't want to see. Think of very cold or hot temperatures, or bright objects such as air and fire. Only objects that you want to focus on will get a color; filtered objects will be displayed in black. The third mode is Picture-in-Picture. This option is used to zoom in on a certain object in the picture (2x), without losing the rest of the field of view. FLIR TruWITNESS A unique feature introduced by FLIR in the PTM series is the FLIR TruWITNESS integration. This functionality allows you to stream images live, so that people and agencies (whom you grant permission to do so) can watch them in real time with you. Think, for example, of colleagues at the head office during urgent operations. They can provide advice and support when the situation demands it and, moreover, images can serve as evidence in a legal way. Separate software is required for the FLIR TruWITNESS functionality; this will probably be introduced in quarter 3. What else has the FLIR Scion PTM166 to offer? - Flexible image settings (freely adjustable contrast, brightness and resolution of the image) - Wi-fi and Bluetooth (these built-in functions allow you to share images with other devices) - Flexible battery usage (the camera can be used with 2, 4 or 6 CR123A batteries via a smart tray) - Waterproofness (IP67 certified and therefore 'submersible') Usage FLIR Scion PTM166 To use the unit, insert the supplied battery compartment with 2, 4 or 6 pieces of CR123 batteries into the compartment. The Scion PTM has a 'smart tray' that recognizes how many batteries are installed. The operating time with 6 batteries is 4.5 to 5 hours, measured at 20 degrees Celsius and all functionalities are switched on continuously. In practice, you can achieve an even longer operating time. The thermal camera can also be used with rechargeable CR123 batteries. The unit also has an auto-shutdown function.
