The Guide TrackIR-25 is a thermal imaging monocular with a 25mm lens, widely used during hunting and animal observation. With its manual focus, rangefinder and Hot Track function, the Guide TrackIR-25 offers a number of indispensable features. The thermal viewer is equipped with a 400x300 Vox detector, an HD color display (1290x980 pixels) and a refresh rate of 50hz (which is a real-time image). For a thermal imager in this price segment, these are specifications you won't find anywhere.
The image is standard 1.7x magnified. With a digital zoom, you can increase this 4x further, giving you a maximum total zoom of 6.8x. This gives you a thermal image even at longer distances. The manual focus you can use to focus the image always to your own preference. In addition, you can take photos and videos and view them live on your smartphone or tablet. Five color palettes are selectable: White hot, Black hot, Red hot, Blue hot and Iron.
Easy tracking of moving animals
The thermal viewer has a so-called Hot-Track function. This is an automatic tracking function that allows you to easily detect animals and follow moving game. With this function, the hottest object in the picture is automatically pointed out with a green indicator. Picture-in-Picture mode allows you to further magnify a portion of the image, while the rest of the surroundings remain visible as usual.
The thermal camera is equipped with a stadiametric rangefinder. This allows you to measure the approximate distance to an animal or object. For this purpose the camera uses three sizes: 0.25m, 0.5m and 1.8m. For example, you can use the 1.8m size to measure the distance to a deer. But you can also use it for a human, because a human is also about 1.80m in approximate size.
Operating the thermal imaging camera remotely
You can use the viewer in your hand, but also operate it remotely and view images live on your smartphone/tablet. This is a good solution for when you don't want to keep the camera on your eye all the time and have to close your other eye, for example, when observing from a high seat. To control the camera remotely, you need the free app, which you can find in the PlayStore under the name 'TrackIR' (for Android and iOS). The thermal imaging camera itself creates a Wi-fi signal, so you can easily connect your phone to the camera. Finally, you can also view images in real time on a nearby HD display using the included HDMI cable.
The camera has a rechargeable internal battery (6000mAh) with a usage time of more than 5 hours. In addition, an automatic standby mode is available to save battery, so the device automatically turns off when you don't use it for a while. The viewer is IP66 certified. This means that the camera can withstand rain and a fall 1 meter high on concrete.
The TrackIR-25 belongs to the thermal imaging cameras with the best price/quality ratio in the market. The viewer focuses primarily on use during hunting or animal observation and at short to medium distances. The built-in features make it easy to detect moving animals, track them and determine the distance to the animal. The high detector resolution ensures that you have clear thermal images even at longer distances, and you can always focus the image to your preference. But if you just want to spot animals or observe your own terrain, for example, this thermal imaging camera is also a more than excellent solution.
