The Sky-Watcher Explorer range are standard Newtonian reflectors of excellent quality ranging in aperture from a respectable 130mm to an incredible light-gulping 250mm aperture, catering for astronomers of all levels. from slow motion on both axes to aluminium setting circles for declination and right ascension, everything is there. Whether your interest is deep-sky, the Moon and planets, or a combination of both, the EXPLORER range offers excellent all round performance. This 200 mm aperture SkyWatcher gathers so much light that very distant deep-sky objects such as the Ring Nebula in Lyra or the Dumbbell Nebula can be nicely discerned. Globular star clusters like M13 can be resolved at the rim into many individual stars. Planetary observation also offers views with plenty of detail on Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Mars. This 200 mm scope is capable of gathering 1000 times more light than the naked eye. A great choice for starters and a must for long-time amateur and advanced astronomers.
